BENGALURU: A jail warder at the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail was arrested after the officials discovered cigarettes and prohibited narcotic substances with him during checks. The arrested warder is Rahul Patil. He was taken into custody based on a complaint lodged by jail superintendent Paramesh.

Rahul joined the prisons department as a warder in 2018 and had previously served at Belagavi prison. From June 29 this year, he has been working as a warder at Parappana Agrahara Central jail. As part of his routine duties, Rahul came for inspection near the main gate around 6.50 pm on Friday.

During the inspection by KSISF staff, two packets of cigarettes and about 60 grams of a substance resembling narcotics were found. The staff immediately brought this information to the notice of the ja
