Scottish football fans have been warned of potential travel issues ahead of the World Cup 2026. Tartan Army members have been stunned to discover US visas can be denied for historic minor offences.

Travel agent Lynsey Porter shared a cautionary tale of a man who was banned from the US after growing a cannabis plant over a decade ago. Scotland fans are now being urged to think if they have any issues that could end up getting them deported and fined, reports the Daily Record .

Lynsey posted on the Tartan Army Group thread: "If you are keen on travelling, you will need a visa (ETA/ESTA) for both Canada and USA (Mexico are less fussy about who they let in!) but you need to do this BEFORE you book travel because if you are declined the current lead time for the US embassy is over 6 mon
