Hyderabad Police | Hyderabad, Dec. 6: The Hyderabad police have registered a case after a fake, AI-generated video allegedly portraying AIMIM Supremo and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi surfaced on social media , prompting concerns over misinformation and attempts to incite discord.

The complaint was lodged by Mohammed Irfan Khan , an administrative member of the AIMIM social media team . He alleged that certain social media accounts had circulated fabricated videos with the intent to mislead the public, hurt sentiments, and create disharmony .

Following the complaint, police booked a case under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2008, and sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
