UK households will be paid to bring empty bottles and cans back to supermarkets under a new scheme.
The plan will aim to reduce waste and cut the amount of littering blighting Britain's streets.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has confirmed the launch of the Deposit Return Scheme for empty drinks containers.

It will allow people to take bottles and cans back to supermarkets like Tesco , Sainsbury's , Asda and Morrisons , as well as convenience stories which sell drinks, so they can be recycled.
They will then be paid back a deposit once they return the items. Customers will not need to provide receipts, so can also return bottles "they find, as long as
