Alex Mortensen got the job. Now it’s time for him to get to work.

After being promoted as UAB’s next head coach on Thursday , Mortensen will step into one of the most challenging situations in college football.

After recording four or fewer wins the past three seasons, the Blazers are looking to reignite a winning culture that currently seems like a distant memory. Mortsen believes that can be achieved. However, he knows those changes won’t come from anything he says behind the lectern.
