1Jackson Township, NJ – A teenage girl who was struck by a school bus while riding an electric bicycle Sunday morning has died from her injuries, family members confirmed Friday night.

Police said the crash occurred at the intersection of County Line Road and Hope Chapel Road when the girl, identified by family members as “Angie,” was hit by a westbound school bus traveling from Lakewood.

Emergency responders provided aid at the scene before she was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with severe head trauma. She passed away Friday while hospitalized.

The roadway where the crash occurred has no sidewalks and only a narrow shoulder, a concern that has been raised repeatedly by residents in the area.
