OCOEE, Fla. – A Kissimmee woman was seriously injured in an Ocoee crash late Friday during which she rear-ended an Orange County deputy’s marked patrol car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on State Road 429, near mile marker 24, as both drivers were traveling northbound, troopers said.

According to a statement from FHP, the 42-year-old Kissimmee woman was driving a 2004 Honda Accord and failed to stop for the patrol car, which was stopped on S.R. 429 in response to a previous crash.

The woman was taken to ORMC for treatment of serious injuries while the deputy was taken to Health Center Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said.

FHP is still investigating.
