STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Tens of thousands of New Yorkers have donated funds to help Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani prepare to take office.

On Friday, the transition committee announced that it had raised more than $3 million from nearly 30,000 New Yorkers, just one month after the Queens assemblymember prevailed in the race to become New York City’s next mayor.

“Our transition is bringing people in and making New Yorkers partners in ushering in a new era for our city. More than 29,000 people have contributed to help us build a City Hall that is ready to deliver on our affordability agenda on day one.
