All you need to know after a pensioner died in a bungalow fire in Bolton

Emergency services were called to the blaze in the terraced bungalow on Lorton Grove, Breightment at around 3pm yesterday (Friday).

A 78-year-old man was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Sadly today police confirmed he had died in hospital.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said enquiries were ongoing, but there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Recue Service said after rescuing the pensioner crews spent about two hours at the scene extinguishing the blaze. READ THE FULL STORY HERE
