Ludwig, who signed with the University of Michigan on Wednesday after committing to the Wolverines on May 20 , was named the Gatorade Montana Football Player of the Year on Friday.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound senior tight end and defensive end had 50 receptions for 736 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season, leading Billings West (10-2) to a Class AA state runner-up finish. Ludwig added five touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions on 29 carries.
