HOUSTON – Dozens of people were evacuated from Memorial City Mall after an ammonia leak at the ice rink, according to the Houston Fire Department.
A HFD HAZMAT team responded to the mall at about 7:05 a.m. Saturday.
About 30 mall employees and an ice hockey team practicing on the ice rink were evacuated.
The leak was contained by 8:30 a.m.
No one was injured.
The cause of the leak was unknown
Memorial City Mall was set to open for normal business hours.
The skating rink remained closed.
