India head coach Gautam Gambhir did not hold back when he addressed the press after India won an ODI series 2-1 against South Africa on Saturday in Visakhapatnam. Gambhir said he was shocked by the nature of criticism of his coaching job, admitting that results, especially in Test cricket, haven’t gone his way. The former India opener, however, lashed out at an Indian Premier League team owner for 'crossing the line' and suggesting split coaching.
Gambhir stopped short of naming the owner, although it was clear he was referring to Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal , who had suggested a specialist red-ball coach for India’s Test team after they were hammered 0-2 by South Africa in a Test series last month.
