Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Remember the days when a gas station attendant cleaned your windshield? And the paperboy tossed a rolled-up paper onto your doorstep? Or waiting days until a film developer processed the pictures on your camera roll for you?
Those days — and jobs — are long gone in Virginia and other states throughout the U.S. According to a recent survey by resume.io , a host of “lost jobs” are missed by people in the commonwealth.
A November poll of more than 3,000 people aged 45 and older showed the top jobs they were nostalgic for:
Gas station attendant
Arcade attendant
VHS repair technician
Video rental clerk
Bowling alley pin-setter
Toll booth collector
Record store clerk
Film developer
Door-to-door encyclopedia salesperson
Paperboy
