Anthony Taylor immediately justified his decision to award Leeds United a penalty during the clash with Liverpool at Elland Road. Play was put on pause 70 minutes into that fixture when Ibrahima Konate appeared to foul Wilfried Gnonto in his own area, as the ball rolled past the by-line.
As the Leeds star appealed the challenge, clearly feeling hard-done by, Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville was quick to clarify that VAR were looking at the incident. He said on air: "We're hearing from VAR possible penalty and I would agree.
"He just seems to hook his leg a little bit too far, Konate. Rather than go to block the cross and just slide on the line away from Gnonto, he seems to tangle his legs with him. Let's have a look, I don't think he's getting it."
