GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — For many, a trip to downtown Grand Rapids to see The Nutcracker is a yearly holiday tradition. But before you snag tickets to this year's ballet, you should double check that they're legitimate.

According to Grand Rapids Ballet Executive Director Mary Jennings, there have been issues with scammers buying tickets at affordable prices and reselling them for over double the price.

"We certainly want our most affordable tickets to go to the folks that are here in our community or are traveling in to see the show. And we price our tickets very strategically, so that we're not pricing anyone out," Jennings said. "And when someone sees a ticket that's $150, $200, they think, 'What's going on with the ballet?'
