PULLMAN, Wash. -- WSU head coach Jimmy Rogers released a statement following the announcement that he took a head coaching job at Iowa State.

Rogers has signed a six-year contract with the Cyclones.

Rogers posted the following statement on X about his departure on Saturday morning:

Washington State,

Ever since I first arrived here in Pullman, my focus has always been on the players in this program and the relationships that we form. Thank you to them for their belief and trust. This was never my intention.

This opportunity has always been a dream of mine and one that allows my family to return closer to home. In this profession, there is never a good time to say goodbye, but I am proud of what we accomplished with so many new players.
