WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A place that made countless meals was put on wheels.
The landmark Wythe Diner was moved on Saturday from its home in Williamsburg. It is being transported to a film and TV studio where it will serve as a set.
"The former owner of the diner sold the site to a developer but it was very important to him that it not be demolished and it could still be part of the fabric of the neighborhood, so I think this was a really good way to keep it going, and he is going to come visit it from time to time, and it'll still live on in features and on screen," said studio owner Doug Steiner
"Whoever bought it had to help me preserve the diner. I've imagined this for years, I can't believe it's actually happening," said the diner's former owner, Sandy Stillman.
