Bahraich: In a horrifying incident early Sunday morning, a four-year-old boy was abducted by a wolf from beside his sleeping mother in Mallahanpurwa hamlet of Godahiya village, under Kaiserganj area, leaving the village shaken.

According to reports, the child — identified as Subhash, son of Santosh and Kiran — was asleep beside his mother when a wolf slipped inside the mud house at around 1 a.m., grabbed him in its jaws, and fled. ADVERTISEMENT

The mother woke up to her son’s cries and attempted to chase the animal, crying for help; villagers joined in a frantic night-long search, but by dawn only the child’s torn clothes and small fragments of human flesh were recovered about a kilometer from the home.
