ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 29-year-old Orlando man died after being hit by an SUV late Saturday while he ran on a road in Orange County, according to the Florida highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Silver Star Road, east of N. Hiawassee Road, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, a 2024 Honda CR-V being driven by a 20-year-old Orlando man was traveling westbound on Silver Star Road when the 29-year-old man, who was running in a northerly direction, entered Silver Star’s westbound lanes and the SUV’s direct path. The SUV struck the pedestrian as a result, the report states.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.

The SUV’s driver was not injured and remained at the scene.

FHP is still investigating.
