Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Indian armed forces for their restrained approach during Operation Sindoor, stating they could have inflicted greater damage but chose to act with discipline. Speaking at an event in Leh, he highlighted the operation's success in targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people on April 22.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, resulted in the destruction of nine major terror launch pads and the elimination of over 100 terrorists. Singh emphasized that the armed forces demonstrated both bravery and restraint, executing the operation with precision. "Of course, we could have done much more had we wanted, but our forces demonstrated not only valour but also restraint, doing only what was necessary," he remarked.

The Defence Minister credited improved connectivity and logistics for the operation's success, stating, "Our armed forces were able to deliver logistics right on time. Such a huge operation could take place because our connectivity was strong." He also acknowledged the support from local citizens and civil administration during the operation.

Singh inaugurated 125 infrastructure projects by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), which included roads and bridges across several border states. He noted that these projects, costing Rs 5,000 crore, are vital for enhancing border connectivity and security. The minister highlighted the growth of India's defence manufacturing sector, with production increasing from Rs 46,000 crore in 2014 to Rs 1.51 lakh crore today. He stated that defence exports have also surged from less than Rs 1,000 crore a decade ago to nearly Rs 24,000 crore now.

The Defence Minister reiterated that India's military actions, including the recent operation, reflect a commitment to national integrity. He remarked, "When it comes to India's glory and dignity, we never compromise." Singh concluded by praising the BRO for its timely project completions and the adoption of indigenous technologies, which contribute to both security and economic growth in border areas.
