Family in Gilbert and teachers have provided Anirvin Puttur with a distinction few have achieved.
A cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy, he was recently announced as a Rhodes Scholar, among the oldest and most prestigious of academic honors.
Puttur and fellow Cadet First Class Robert J. Miller are among 32 Americans who will attend the fully funded postgraduate Rhodes Scholar program in the United Kingdom at the University of Oxford beginning in October.
It is the first time since 2019 the academy has had multiple Rhodes Scholars in a single academic year.
The cadets are the 45th and 46th Rhodes Scholars from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
