LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A traffic stop for a defective taillight led to the arrest of a suspected human smuggler on Monday, Dec. 1.
A Laredo Police officer pulled over a car for a defective taillight near the 300 block of East San Pedro Street.
One of the people in the car, 24-year-old Osvaldo Gilberto Saldana, was found to have multiple warrants from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Saldana now faces five counts of smuggling of persons by fleeing, reckless driving, evading arrest with a vehicle, and evading arrest on foot.
He is currently held at the Webb County Jail. The driver of the car was cited for the taillight violation.
