LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo Public Health Department is warning the community about an increase in flu-like illnesses.
Recent data shows a rise in clinic visits related to influenza-like illnesses over the past few weeks, with the last week of November showing the highest number of visits so far this year.
The health department is reminding everyone that vaccines are the most effective way to protect oneself from the flu.
If you are experiencing symptoms, stay home to prevent spreading illness to others, wash your hands often with soap and water, and consider wearing a mask in crowded areas.
Preventative services and testing are available Monday through Friday at the health department.
