Anne Hathaway's upcoming thriller has unveiled a striking trailer ahead of its release next spring. Mother Mary follows the twisted but intriguing romantic relationship between a pop star (Hathaway) and a visionary fashion designer ( Michaela Coel ).

In the trailer, which was posted on YouTube , the musician arrives at a dark and ominous property, made even more menacing by the thunderous storm outside. As she explains the reason for her visit to designer Sam, it's clear that there is a lot of history between the pair.

Hathaway's character tearfully reveals she needs a dress and "had nowhere else to go". Her request is met with indifference from Sam, though she quickly gets to work on the garment alongside her assistant Hilda (Hunter Schafer).
