West Texas A&M protected its perfect postseason legacy Saturday, holding off Arkansas Tech 28–27 in the Heritage Bowl after a last-second defensive stand at Community National Bank & Trust Stadium. Corsicana, located about 50 miles southeast of Dallas, hosted the bowl game as WT improved to 7–0 all time in postseason play, its most recent prior bowl win coming in the 2011 Kanza Bowl.
While the Buffs battled in Corsicana, students and staff gathered throughout the Jack B. Kelley Student Center to watch the game together on campus.
