MCRAE-HELENA, Ga. — The city of McRae-Helena is under a boil water advisory until Tuesday because of issues with the prison water tank.
The advisory only applies to the old Helena side of the city, not the McRae side, since the water systems do not share water, the City Manager, Lance Jones said.
Jones said that around 1 p.m. on Sunday, the pressure started to lower. He said that water should be boiled before being consumed.
He said that if residents are drinking, cooking, or brushing their teeth, they should boil the water first or use bottled water. Jones said that showering is fine, as long as residents do not consume water while showering.
