Get your cameras ready, because it could be time, once again , for the U.S. to see the northern lights.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s Space Weather Prediction Center said on Saturday an M8.1 solar flare , which is an eruption of energy from the sun, was detected.

A full-halo coronal mass ejection, an eruption of solar material and magnetic fields, associated with the flare, is expected to hit Earth around midday on Tuesday, which could lead to a strong (G3) geomagnetic storm . Storms are measured on a five-level scale.

November’s storm was a G4 on the scale.

This time, the aurora might become visible over “many of the northern states and some of [the] lower Midwest to Oregon,” NOAA said .
