LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Webb County Commissioners Court will meet Monday, Dec. 8, at 9 a.m. to discuss several agenda items, including an extended holiday for county employees.

Commissioners will consider designating Friday, Dec. 26, as part of the Christmas holiday to allow county employees to celebrate Christmas uninterrupted. Dec. 25 falls on a Thursday, and county employees would report back to work for only one day before the weekend. The extended holiday would give county employees five full days to be with their families and celebrate the Christmas season.

County officials are set to discuss adopting a Pre-Approved Government Plan 457(b) “Deferred Compensation” amendment effective Jan. 1, 2026. The amendment would continue the third-party administration agreement between Webb County
