SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A new PetSmart store is now open for business in the brand new ‘Springfield Crossing’ the former location of the Eastfield Mall on Boston Road.

The store opened their doors at 9a.m. Saturday and dozens were eagerly awaiting to shop for there animal besties and grab a goodie bag.

With all the excitement going on at the ribbon cutting, residents were thrilled to see a new business opening so close to home.

“We’re just here because we have a pet and we wanted to see what they had to offer here, which is a lot,” one local resident told us.

“I live right down the street from my house and the gas right there, the BJ’s gas is cheap and I’m honestly pretty excited about this plaza,” another resident we spoke to said.
