KINGSTON, N.Y. — Over a dozen activists and community members gathered outside the Ulster County Courthouse on Sunday afternoon for a rally calling for the reform of the way police officers conduct high-speed pursuits.

The rally came on the heels of the November trial of former state trooper Christopher Baldner , who was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, and three counts of reckless endangerment for the Dec. 22, 2020, crash on the state Thruway that resulted in the death of 11-year-old Monica Goods.

Baldner, 52, of Greene County, was found not guilty of murder and the reckless endangerment counts. A mistrial was declared for the manslaughter charge as the jury was unable to come to a unanimous verdict. He was also found not g
