GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Great Smoky Mountains National Park said one of its most popular roads will be closing Sunday evening.

US 441, commonly known as Newfound Gap Road, will be closing due to forecasted weather at 8 p.m.

Currently, it is the only roadway in the park that is slated to close due to weather conditions.

Officials said it will reopen when crews determine it’s safe for travel.
