IndiGo, the country’s largest airline, could not resume normal flight operations on Sunday, canceling over 650 flights. The airline claimed to have operated 1,650 out of its 2,300 daily flights.
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said the situation is improving and the airline network is expected to stabilise by December 10. Earlier, the company had projected normalization between December 10 and 15.
During the ongoing crisis, IndiGo has processed refunds totaling approximately ₹610 crore and returned baggage to around 3,000 passengers.
The government had instructed the airline a day earlier to complete refunds by Sunday evening and return separated baggage within 48 hours.
