HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Repaving work on the Kalihi Stream Bridge along westbound lanes on Nimitz Highway will begin Monday.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation said all but one westbound lane will be open along Nimitz Highway across the bridge as crews pave in the remaining three lanes.

Work will take place Monday, Dec. 8, through Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Then on Friday, Dec. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 13, work hours will change to 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. to allow for sufficient paving time without impacting Zipperlane operations, HDOT said.

The on-ramp to the Airport Viaduct will also be closed from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Thursday for road work.

Officials said that special duty police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and safety procedures
