U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan’s demand that former U.S. Special Prosecutor Jack Smith give testimony in private to Mr. Jordan’s committee investigating the weaponization of the Justice Department is an odd one.

We cannot imagine anything secret about the subject of Mr. Smith’s former case. Almost every detail is publicly known, much of which points to the President’s active involvement in an attempt to set aside a lawful presidential election. Anything that must be kept secret to protect an informant, for example, can easily be done.

It is not like Mr. Jordan to be coy about his investigatory explorations. Putting liberal deep state operatives on the hot seat is Mr. Jordan’s wheelhouse, as he is not known for introducing or managing legislation.
