Today in History revisits the Sunday, December 8, 1968 edition of the Grand Forks Herald and highlights a story from East Grand Forks. In late 1968, East Grand Forks native Earl L. Enright sold the Enright Oil Company he founded 36 years prior to the Farmers Cooperative Marketing Association. Enright, a former 12-year mayor, civic leader, and flood control advocate, is retiring to focus on his work with the Red River Basin Committee and the planned 85-foot Huot Dam project.

After a span of 36 years in a business which he started, Earl L. Enright, an East Grand Forks native, has sold his oil company, 910 Fourth Ave. S., and will turn over the keys to the new owners Jan. 1, 1969.
