KOCHI: The Ernakulam principal sessions court acquitted actor Dileep in the sensational 2017 abduction and rape case on Monday. Dileep was accused of conspiring and hiring a gang to execute the crime. However, the court found the gang led by Sunil NS alias Pulsar Suni that abducted and raped the actor, guilty. District and sessions judge Honey M Varghese pronounced the judgment at 11 am on Monday. The court will conduct hearing on quantum of punishment on December 12. The popular actor was abducted and assaulted in Kochi on Feb 17, 2017, when she was travelling from Thrissur to Kochi. The prosecution's case was that the gang hijacked the survivor's vehicle.
