From a pure offensive standpoint, Kyle Schwarber is perhaps the most coveted hitter available on the free agent market. He had an outstanding campaign for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2025. The veteran slugger has thereby ensured that he will receive another nine-figure deal before winding down his career. The Phillies are considered the favorites to bring him back into their clubhouse, but there are plenty of suitors for him, to say the least.
On Sunday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that the Pittsburgh Pirates are interested in signing the 32-year-old free agent. Rosenthal revealed that the Pirates put forward a four-year offer in excess of $100 million to Kyle Schwarber.
Although the possibility of this deal going through seems unlikely, it is still a major surprise. Pittsbur
