Bhubaneswar : The Odisha government has taken strict action against corrupt officials, with 20 police officers and employees caught taking bribes by the Vigilance department in the last one and a half years. During the same period, 271 government officials and employees have been arrested in various cases, and 174 government officials have been convicted by the Vigilance Court, informed Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the state Assembly today.
The CM’s response came in reply to a question raised by MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati on the action taken by the government against corrupt officials.
Replying to MLA’s query, CM Majhi also stated that 33 government officials and employees have been dismissed from service, and 65 have had their pensions stopped.
