While Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the Gandhi-Nehru lineage during a Lok Sabha discussion commemorating the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ on Monday, Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi were conspicuous by their absence.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi responded sharply to PM Modi’s remarks in the Lok Sabha, saying the PM once again focused on Jawaharlal Nehru and the Congress instead of addressing the core subject.
Gogoi said that during the debate, Modi mentioned Nehru 14 times and today was no different. He said the Prime Minister could try as much as he wished, but he would never succeed in tarnishing Nehru’s legacy.
