The iconic statue of a weightlifter atop the York Barbell building in York County could soon be rotating again after some repairs are made.

Company bookkeeper Keri Harman told PennLive Friday that a mechanic has been found, and the work will soon be scheduled, though she had no timetable.

On Nov. 14, the company posted a video on Facebook of the once-rotating statue that has been a landmark along Interstate 83 since the 1960s. Nicknamed “Norb,” the statue was modeled after weightlifting pioneer and U.S. Olympic champion Norbert Schemansky.
