HURON COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The Huron County man accused in the murder and disappearance of his girlfriend in 2017, will be in court Monday morning for a final pre-trial.
Frederick Reer’s jury trial is scheduled for Jan. 5, 2026; however, at a hearing earlier this month, the judge said the two sides are working on a plea agreement.
Reer is charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and gross abuse of a corpse in connection with the death of Amanda Dean.
Dean, a 36-year-old mother of four, was last seen on July 11, 2017 in Collins.
In December 2022, Huron County Sheriff detectives re-opened their investigation into Dean’s disappearance.
