A mum-of-four fears she will 'be dead in a couple of years' after being denied a 'last hope' double lung transplant surgery. Lisa Cushman was assessed in hospital last week to be added to a waiting list for the transplant, but was told she wasn't "strong enough to survive" the operation. ‌

The 45-year-old, who has been off sick from work since June, had previously been referred to the hospital and told she was eligible for the potentially life-saving transplant by a different, specialist hospital. ‌

"My life has gone downhill in the last 18 months. I'm a different person," Lisa told BirminghamLive . ‌
