Jury selection begins Monday in the case against James Melady, a former Flagler County paramedic accused of sexual battery on an unconscious patient.
Court proceedings are scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
Melady, 38, faces two charges after deputies alleged he molested a woman who was unconscious in the back of an ambulance.
Investigators said the incident occurred in October 2021 while Melady was on duty, in uniform and transporting the victim to the hospital.
Daytona Beach police detectives uncovered video evidence while investigating unrelated cases involving Melady.
According to the sheriff's office, the video shows Melady setting up a recording device, adjusting the camera, and molesting the victim.
