COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A former South Carolina clerk of court linked to the high-profile Murdaugh murder case is set to go before a judge on Monday.
A hearing for Becky Hill, who was the Colleton County Clerk of Court during Alex Murdaugh’s murder trial, will be held in Calhoun County. Hill was charged earlier this year with perjury, obstruction of justice and misconduct in office.
According to arrest warrants, Hill allegedly obstructed justice when she made “sealed evidence” available to third parties in violation of a court order.
Hill also violated state law on two separate charges when she used her former office to promote a book she co-authored, “Behind the Doors of Justice: The Murdaugh Murders,” and when she received funds for personal use from Title IV-D Incentive Funds and the
