The mother of a young man whose mysterious death remains unexplained says she was left unable to grieve after her son's father-in-law began speculating about the tragedy in online videos.

Rachel Holland was heartbroken when 27-year-old Alex was found dead in a ditch near Deal in 2022 – almost three months after stepping outside the family home for a cigarette and never returning.

Even before his body was discovered, the father of Alex’s estranged wife – Daniel Richards – began investigating his disappearance, and later his death, posting a series of videos on Facebook and YouTube.

In them, he discussed theories about what might have happened and suggested Alex had been involved in illegal drug use.
