Liverpool could be notably short on wide options for their high-profile Champions League meeting with Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Mohamed Salah trained at the club’s AXA Centre base on Monday afternoon, but is expected to be omitted entirely from Arne Slot’s squad who will travel to Italy after a bombshell interview given at the weekend in which he said he had been “thrown under the bus” by the club and no longer had any relationship with the manager.

Salah’s incendiary words were delivered after he was left as an unused substitute by Slot for the second time in three matches in Saturday’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Leeds at Elland Road, having suffered the same fate at West Ham before coming on at half-time against Sunderland.
