Ally McCoist has labelled Celtic 's mid-season appointment of Wilfried Nancy a 'gamble', following Martin O'Neill's successful interim period.

Nancy's first game as manager ended in a 2-1 home defeat to Hearts, which extended the Edinburgh side's lead at the top of the table to three points.

This came after O'Neill, who stepped in after Brendan Rodgers ' resignation, managed to steady the ship, winning seven out of his eight games in charge, including five straight Premiership victories.
