Former Gov. Jim McGreevey says he is recommitted to his advocacy for people leaving prison and he will not run for political office again after his bid to become Jersey City’s next mayor ended with a landslide loss last week.
McGreevey wrote a thank-you letter addressed to neighbors congratulating Mayor-elect James Solomon , reiterating his affection for Jersey City and outlining his next steps.
“My full focus now returns to the New Jersey Reentry Corporation, where every day we help men and women fight for a Second Chance at stability, work, and dignity. That work is where I will continue to serve our city and state in a real, hands-on way,” McGreevey wrote.
