One of Lake George's most popular tour boats caught fire Monday morning, Dec. 8.
Footage shared by news anchor Mark Mulholland of WNYT shows flames consuming the boat. Mullholland identified the ship as the Adirondac.
According to WNYT, citing a Warren County spokesman, a passer-by reported the fire around 7 a.m., bringing four local fire agencies to the scene. The vessel was reportedly fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
While the owner of the boat has not officially been identified, it matches a description of a boat called the Adirondac, operated by Lake George Waterfront Cruises. The company website says it is a 115-foot luxury touring ship that was added to the Waterfront fleet in 2004 and carries up to 400 passengers.
The ship is widely recognized as one of the most popular tour boats on Lake George.
The vessel features handicapped accessibility, climate control on the first deck, full bars on the first and second decks, formal dining for 160 guests with additional seating upstairs, and an atrium that opens to the sun and stars. A bridal suite and private dining room sit on the third deck. Built with quiet, computer-controlled engines and an aluminum hull trimmed in mahogany and cedar, the Adirondac offers one of the most elegant settings on Lake George and is available for charter through December.
Daily Voice's phone call placed to Lake George Waterfront Cruises was not answered Monday morning.
