BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WCTV) - A local hospital in Bainbridge has officially been designated as a Remote Treatment Stroke Center.
Memorial Hospital and Manor announced the news this past week, and officials said it’s a great asset for patients and staff.
Remote stroke centers allow hospitals to assist stroke patients quickly with the help of real-time consultations from neurologists via telehealth.
The specialists assist in confirming if a patient is having a stroke, a course of treatment and if the patient will need rehabilitation or a facility transfer.
“It’s very important for the residents here, and I think that it should definitely make them feel better knowing that we have been extensively trained,” she said.
